Ghana International School Junior students present the cheque to The Childrens Heart Foundation Ghana

As Ghana International School celebrates their 60th Anniversary, they were kind enough to continue their tradition of helping those who are needy and less fortunate than they are. The school has been a strong supporter of The Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana over the years.

The Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana, is a charity that raises money to pay for the surgeries of Ghanaian children between the ages of 2-16 who have congenital heart diseases and require heart surgery and whose families cannot afford to pay for them. 

For the last four years Ghana International School students have saved the lives of children by donating their pocket money during the term to pay for a child’s surgery.

This year GIS students surpassed their previous goals and donated enough money to pay for three children!!!!!   The trustees of The Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana were amazed and delighted.  However, this was nothing compared to the emotions of the parents of the sick children who when called and told the good news were so happy they could hardly speak and some even broke into tears on the realization that thanks to the generosity of the

students, parents and staff of Ghana International School their child would live. The parents have asked that we send their sincere appreciation and thanks to all those who contributed.
